Continue to exert pressure for exemption from NEET

Tamil Nadu Government will continue to exert pressure on the Centre to exempt the State from NEET, Education Minister, K A Sengottaiayan said today.

The stand of the government in this regard was clear and it will continue to fight for the exemption from NEET for the benefit of the students, Sengottaiayan told reporters here.

Besides, there are plans to release a book containing 54,000 questions being asked in the National-level examinations conducted by the Centre, he said.

Stating that new announcements for the benefit of poor students will be made before the end of current Assembly session, Sengottaiayn said that 3,000 Smart schools are on the anvil in the State.

To a question with regard to irregularities in fees in private schools, he said that it is being looked into. Similarly, a committee will look into the issues concerning part time teachers, he said.
