Bangalore biker is the first Indian to be racing in Thailand Superbike championship

BANGALORE : Sandesh Prasannakumar, is the first Indian to be participating in the Thailand Superbike Championship in superbike category, considered to be the toughest championship in Asia in motorcycle racing.

A speed-loving bike racer, Sandesh strayed into bike racing as if by an accident. In his early teens Sandesh had played Zonals under-14 cricket for an year and opted out as the country’s most popular game could not hold his interest for long.

He was carrying on like this when he got a bike for his 20th birthday, and chose to enter the Nandi Hills Climb, a motorcycle racing event and went onto win it in 2011. And since then there has been no looking back for this champion biker, who has now set his sights on Thailand motorcycle racing event, to be held in few weeks’ time. He is also looking forward to being a wild card entry in Asia Supermoto championship, scheduled to be held in Bangalore and then follow it up with the JK tyre National Superbike Cup to be held in Delhi.

For a person who got into bike racing by an accident, so to speak, Sandesh turned into a champion rider and is the first Indian to do a Lap Record in Buddh International Circuit in the year 2015.

Winner of JK Tyre Superbike Cup race (2016), Sandesh also had a podium finish of 3rd position at the Malaysia Superbike Championship (2015) in Superstock 1000cc category.

For him fitness, zeal, rigorous training and above all undying passion for the sport are the keys to his success. In fact, he said, “these are the key to success in anything one does in life.”

If one followed the activity with full dedication and sincerity and with passion, chances are one will become a winner, no matter how tough the competition is, said Sandesh in an inspirational message for the youngsters in schools and colleges.
