In this family video, former prime minister Indira Gandhi is speaking to her young grandchildren, Rahul and Priyanka, about how important food is for good health. She tells them, for proper growth and to gain strength, they must eat food.
“Do you know, if you eat, only then your bones will be strengthened and blood will be produced?” she says, to which a curious Rahul asks, “What is blood?”
His grandmother patiently replies: “Blood is red in colour and flows in the veins, which you see when you are hurt.”
Touching her hand, Rahul asks, “Is blood flowing in your hands?”
“Blood is everywhere in the body, not just in the hands,” she replies.
