Coimbatore
900 kg ration rice seized from train

About 900 kilos of rice, meant for Public Distribution, was seized from the Coimbatore-Thrissur Passenger train this evening.
The seizure in 25 gunny bags was made during a routine coach checking in platform number five. However, there were no claimants for the rice, railway sources said.
The rice, meant to be smuggled to Kerala, was handed over to Food Cell CID, they said.
