Looking for a reliable jeweller to shop for your daughter’s wedding? Looking for a silver bracelet to gift your boyfriend? Look no further: Sumangali Jewellers in the city is a one-stop shopping destination for jewels.

From handmade jewellery to intricately designed bangles, Sumangali Jewelers offers a wide range of products that would meet your aesthetic needs and fit your wallet as well.

The owners of Sumagali Jewellers say they have made a name for themselves selling Odiyanams, which is considered a prestigious buy. “We have over 150 types of Odiyanams. From 100gms to 100 sovereigns, the range is huge. We have every design you can possibly think of,” says V Senthil Kumar, son of AR Visvanathan, who started the store in 1979. The 5000 sq. ft. store is now a landmark on Raja Street.

Another store is on Cross Cut Road in Gandhipuram near Singapore Plaza in an area of 3,500 sq ft.

But what makes Sumangali Jewellers stand out? “We employ our own contractors, who come up with designs for the goldsmiths. We have a factory in Selvapuram and most of our collection is sourced from there,” says V Ashyanth, brother of Senthil Kumar.

The whole of the ground floor in the Raja Street store is devoted for gold jewellery. The first floor is for silver ornaments.

“We plan to open a second floor boutique devoted to diamonds and antique jewellery. This space will be thrown open in 15 days,” says Senthil. “From ear piercing for your girl child to the wedding, we have jewels for every possible occasion,” he adds.

“The gold is procured from banks in bars. It is given to nearly 100 goldsmiths who make it according to the design given to them. It is later BIS hallmarked and brought to the stores,” says Ashyanth.

The store is also famous for its variety in Temple jewellery.
