Coimbatore, January 23, 2026 : The Coimbatore District Tennis Association (CDTA) today announced that the CDTA League 2026 will commence from January 24, 2026. The league matches will be played every weekend across venues in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Pollachi and the Nilgiri districts.

CDTA functions under the leadership of Mr. Srinivasan (President), with Mr. Sathish Nair (Secretary), Mr. A.R. Chockalingam (Vice President), Mr. Dandoo (Joint Secretary), Mr. Sadhasivam (Vice President) and Mr. Narendra (Treasurer) guiding the association’s activities.

Addressing the media, CDTA Secretary Sathish Nair, along with Vice President A.R. Chockalingam, said the 2026 edition will feature a record 116 teams across 11 divisions (Division A to K), with around 1,200 players. The league has shown steady growth, expanding from 109 teams in 2024 to 111 teams in 2025, reaffirming its position as India’s largest tennis league conducted in a league format.

CDTA has a rich and distinguished legacy in Indian tennis. The association successfully organised the prestigious Davis Cup ties in Coimbatore in 1977. Building on this momentum, CDTA launched its first district tennis league in 1978. The 2026 edition marks the 48th year of the CDTA League.

Coimbatore has produced several world-class tennis players including K.G. Ramesh, Manoj Raghavan, Sriram Balaji and Nirupama. Continuing this tradition, Mayaa, who received early support from CDTA, is currently ranked World No. 34 in the Junior ITF World Rankings.

In addition to the league, CDTA supports registered academies across the district in conducting AITA-approved tournaments in all formats. League schedules, results and updates will be available on the official CDTA website www.cdta.co.in.
