CMB: Opposition party workers form human chain, stage protest

COIMBATORE: Hundreds of workers of various political parties and organisations formed a human chain in the city on Monday demanding the constitution of Cauvery Management Board. The five-km long chain was initiated by former Minister and senior DMK leader, Pongalur Palanisamy and DMK MLA N. Karthik, covering main thoroughfare from Dr Nanjappa Road to Tatabad.

DMK workers held ploughs in their hands and raised slogans against the Central and Tamil Nadu Governments.

Congress leaders Mayura Jayakumar, V.M.C. Manoharan, former CPI MLA M Arumugham, Adi Tamizhar Peravai leader Adiyaman, Thanthai Periyar Dravida Kazhagam General Secretary K. Radhakrishnan, MDMK District Secretary R.R.Mohankumar and VCK Zonal President Susi Kalaiorasan were among those participated in the chain, which lasted for nearly two hours.
