The Coimbatore Corporation would putting in place stickers – a weekly calendar – in all households and apartments in the city to check if mosquito larvae was found, Health Officer K Santhoshkumar said. It should help improve measures taken to control mosquitoes.
The stickers would have 52 boxes representing as many weeks. The corporation’s domestic mosquito breeding checkers would make an entry based on their observation every week.
They would tick the yes (coloured red) if they found larvae, or no (coloured green) if they found none and also enter the date of checking.
The latest initiative was different from the previous one as in it corporation appreciated by pasting stickers in only those houses where mosquito breeding sources were destroyed, he added.
