Coimbatore to host ITF Future Tennis tournament from September 17

Top seeded tennis players Sriram Balaji, Prajnesh Gunneswaran, Vijay Sundar Prashant, and Vishnu Vardhan will be seen in action at the prestigious LMW ITF Future Men’s International Tennis Tournament, beginning in Coimbatore from September 17.

A large number of foreign participants are expected to take part in the eight-day tournament, with entries coming from the US, South Korea, and South Africa.

The qualifying rounds will be played on September 17 and 18, and the main draw from the 19th onwards. While the doubles’ finals will be played on September 23, the singles’ finals will be held the next day.

With the total prize money of USD 10,000, the winner of the men’s singles title will be awarded USD 1,440, and runner up, USD 848. The winners and runners-up of the doubles title will get USD 620 and USD 360 respectively. In addition to cash prizes, the winners and runners will gain 18 and 10 ATP points respectively.

Abhishek Mukherjee will be the chief umpire for the event, jointly organised by Coimbatore District Tennis Association, the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association, and Manoj Foundation.
