Coimbatore : With continuous attacks on him and the Government over Rafale deal, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi today accused Congress of treating defence sector for brokering deals during its regime.

Congress has several scams associated with the defence, from the seas to the skies, and the defence sector was only about brokering deals to help their friends, Modi said while addressing a BJP workers rally near Tirupur.

Stating that Congress did not want modernisation of defense sector while in power he said that NDAs approach to national security was different and wanted India’s forces to have all possible support.

Modi said that political culture of opposing Modi for everything may give them space in Television, but elections are fought on one’s vision and not by slander and attacks.

Highlighting various development schemes being implemented by his Government, he said that NDA for the first time in the history, has spoken about doubling farmers’ income, instead of loan waivers being promised by opposition parties, when elections were nearing.

Earlier at a government function, the Prime Minister laid foundation for a 100-bedded ESIC hospital in Tirupur, second leg of Chennai Metro and expansion of Tiruchy airport.
