Convention on plastic ban awareness in Trichy

Green pages organization's “Negizhi illa Tamilagam” a convention on illeffects of plastics is scheduled at the National College, Trichy on March 10.

 R. Santhanam, the Founder of Green pages movement, said that a  convention will be organized to discuss on various topics associated with ill-effects of plastic usage in our day today lives.

Green pages movement through this convention is reaching out to nature lovers, environmentalists, environmental organisations, environmental NGOs, volunteers, school and college students, general public, to spread awareness regarding the plastic ban in Tamilnadu.

He stated that Government’s plastic ban has been received positively by all sections of society. The recycling of plastic waste and alternate methodologies restricting the usage of plastic has not been discussed widely, he added.

Santhanam stated that this convention would focus on these issues and give practical solutions to the general public. Small business entrepreneurs and environmentalists from all platforms who have implemented usage of environmental friendly materials instead of plastic products will be detailing their methods in this gathering, he added.

“There will be cultural events like skits, plays, and documentaries on the theme of plastic ban".

Godson Samuel of ‘Panai Nadu’, a famous environmentalist who campaigns for the revival of palm trees and the multiple uses of palm products, has been invited to speak in this convention among others.
