Counterfeit note printing unit unearthed near Coimbatore, one arrested

Coimbatore : A counterfeit currency note printing unit was unearthed in the city today and 6,000 fake notes of Rs 2,000 denomination were seized.
The seizure was made, following the arrest of a youth carrying a large number of Rs 2,000 notes in his two-wheeler during a vehicle check in the early hours of today, police said.
The notes seized from the two-wheeler were to the tune of Rs 85 lakh.

Based on the confession made by Anand , police searched a house at Velandipalayam on the outskirts and seized more fake notes, kept ready for circulation.
Police also seized a computer, monitor, printer, cutting machine and bottles of colour chemicals, they said.
