The Pollachi town unit of DMK today organised a novel protest by gifting a sari to a man, who was wearing a mask of the local MLA Pollachi Jayaram, who had voted for the Edappadi K. Palanisamy dispensation.

Led by DMK town Secretary Selvaraj, the cadres went in procession and gifted a sari and other cosmetic items to the masked man. Pollachi Jayaram is the Deputy Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

The man was later draped in a sari and then taken in a procession. The DMK cadres who have planned to proceed to MLAs office in the town dropped the idea at the last minute, as there was police presence there.

Police, later, arrested over 100 DMK cadres who were involved in the novel protest.
