Coimbatore: Keeping with the changing trend and shift towards eco-friendly products, Coimbatore-based Shree Sakthi Tex is into manufacture of eco-friendly cotton fabric, producing cotton bags as an alternative for plastic ones.

The company at Peelamedu has introduced a special eco-friendly bag which has six pouches meant to carry different grocery items. It also manufactured bags for saplings to replace plastic growbags.

Cotton bags with customised size, design and shape would be perfect to people with social awareness. With the ban announced for plastic products in Tamil Nadu from January, these cotton bags would be a perfect alternative for plastic ones.

In an innovative way, he started producing bags to meet customer preferences of size, shape and colour. Initially, there was no demand for cotton bags as people opted for the cheaper plastic ones.
