Elephant tramples young man to death

20-year-old Eswaran was trampled to death right in front of his mahout relative’s eyes, by a camp elephant of the Top Slip area.

Eswaran from Amaravathi, had gone to meet his relative, Mahali, who works as a mahout and was in charge of the elephant, 25-year-old Mariappan, at the Top Slip Camp.

After the evening walk, when Eswaran was feeding the elephant, it trampled the young man. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. An enquiry has been ordered into the incident.
