Ensure speedy disposal of cases, judicial officers urged

Portfolio Judge, Coimbatore, Justice R. Sudhakar of Madras High Court, today instructed the judicial officers to take effective steps for speedy disposal of cases.

After inspecting all courts in Coimbatore district, which had not been inspected for the last five years, the Judge looked into pendency of cases and gave instruction to the judicial officers.

He formed a ‘Task Force Team’ consisting of “work knowing” staff members to guide other staff members to rectify the defects found during the inspection and to sustain it in the future.

Carrying out inspection of the entire building of the Combined Court premises, he instructed PWD officials to take necessary steps to put up a ramp for the differently abled, wherever required in the campus.

He also instructed them to take steps to renovate the heritage building and fix fire alarms with sensor. The Justice held a meeting with the District Collector, Police Ccommissioner and Superintendent of Police regarding early disposal of new cases, FIRs and also recovery
of fine arrears.
