At the function in Coimbatore on Monday, the Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development, S.P. Velumani handed over the property registration documents to the beneficiaries who were allocated the houses by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board.
Speaking at the function, the minister said, “So far 930 families were allocated houses by the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board in Coimbatore. 10664 houses are being constructed in the Coimbatore division at a cost of Rs.568.51 crores in the current financial year.”
He promised that the residents who had encroached upon the disputed land will be given proper houses. Officials of the board, and the revenue department participated in the function.
