The Foundation Day 2024 of PSG College of Technology, located in Peelamedu, Coimbatore, was celebrated with grandeur on the college campus this morning. This ceremony is a prestigious occasion where PSG College of Technology honors its distinguished alumni for their remarkable contributions in various fields.

The ceremony was presided over by Shri L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities. The event was graced by the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Shri Babasaheb Neelkanth Kalyani, Chairman & Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd.

The Chief Guest reflected on Coimbatore’s rich industrial legacy and commended PSG and Sons’ pioneering contributions to India’s industrial growth. He emphasized the urgent need for innovation-driven development, urging young engineers and students to focus on creating “Made in India” and “Made in Coimbatore” products to propel Indian companies into global leadership positions. Acknowledging the challenges posed by rapid geopolitical changes, he called upon the next generation to work diligently, uphold their institution’s legacy, and drive India’s transformation into a leading global economy. He also remarked that “the true impact of an educational institution is reflected in the contributions its alumni make to society,” highlighting the importance of maintaining strong ties with alumni, recognizing their accomplishments, and supporting them as they continue to build on their successes.

The Distinguished Alumni Award was presented to illustrious alumni, including Mrs. Anandi Ramalingam, Information Commissioner, Government of India, New Delhi; Mr. Loganathan Palanisamy, Director of Engineering, Yahoo, San Francisco, USA; Mrs. Kalpana Arvind, Outstanding Scientist and Associate Director at LEOS-ISRO, Bengaluru; Mr. Suresh Muthuswami, Chairman of North America, Tata Consultancy Services, New Jersey, USA; Mr. Albert Thomas, Industry Supply Chain Executive, Oracle, Atlanta, USA; and Mr. Leela Kaza, Founder & Co-CEO of Bounteous x Accolite, Dallas, USA.

The occasion featured the presence of the Chairman of PSG & Sons’ Charities, Shri G. R. Karthikeyan, the Principal of PSG College of Technology, Dr. K. Prakasan, along with other principals, deans, officers, alumni, current students, and distinguished guests, making it a memorable celebration of the institution’s legacy and the achievements of its alumni.
