Rotaract Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy’s, Indian Para Cricket League 2.0 concludes with a grand celebration of resilience, recognition, and hope
Coimbatore, September 7, 2025: The Indian Para Cricket League (IPCL) 2.0, organized in Coimbatore, concluded its 3-day extravaganza with a resounding valedictory celebration that marked not just the end of a tournament but the beginning of many life-changing journeys.
This year’s league gathered 60+ para-athletes from across India, representing states including Jammu & Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, and many others. Over three spirited days, these athletes showcased their grit, determination, and love for cricket, turning the event into one of the most impactful para-cricket tournaments in the nation.
The success of IPCL 2.0 was made possible through the unwavering support of the Rotaract Clubs of Coimbatore Cosmopolitan, Coimbatore Smartcity, Coimbatore Unique, HICAS, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education, and Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, whose volunteers worked tirelessly throughout the tournament. Leading the event was Rtn. Rtr. Jaya Kishore as Event Chair, with Rtr. Sriee Aswanth serving as Event Secretary, Rtr. Mitun as Event Convenor, and Rtr. Janani as Event Treasurer. They were guided by the wisdom and support of Rtn. PHF Venkatesh as Event Advisor, while Rtr. Srivarshan, President of the host club, provided leadership and vision to bring the championship together. Their combined efforts ensured that the tournament was not just organized but celebrated as a true festival of inclusion and dignity.
The tournament witnessed thrilling clashes, nail-biting finishes, and inspiring performances. Every ball bowled and every run scored told a story of resilience. More than competition, the league became a platform for these athletes to prove that ability is never bound by disability.
For many players, IPCL 2.0 was more than a game, it was a gateway to recognition, dignity, and opportunities. Participation in such events often opens doors to government sports quota appointments, scholarships, and employment, offering para-athletes a chance to transform their lives.
The valedictory ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, making the closing day a historic one. The Chief Guest, the Coimbatore Collector, Thiru. Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar, felicitated the winners and runners with trophies, and certificates, and in his address, applauded the courage of the athletes while emphasizing the role of inclusive platforms in building a just society. The Guest of Honour, Rtn. Srinivasan, IFCR Chairman (2025–27) from the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Heritage, highlighted how sports is a language that unites beyond barriers. Adding further grace to the occasion were the Special Invitees, Rtn. PHF Venkatesh, President of Rotary Club of Coimbatore Gaalaxy; Rtn. Vijay Krishnan from Rotary Club of Coimbatore East; Rtn. Rajasekhar from Rotary Club of Coimbatore South; and Rtr. Gogul, District Rotaract Representative (DRR), whose presence amplified the spirit reaffirmed Rotaract’s commitment to empowering differently-abled communities.

The Indian Para Cricket League, now in its second edition, has quickly become a flagship event in India’s para-sport calendar. What started as a vision to create a space for differently-abled cricketers has grown into a movement of dignity, inclusion, and empowerment.
