A mega training seminar titled the ‘Agri Startup Festival’ is set to take place for agricultural entrepreneurs under the auspices of Isha’s Save Soil Movement. The event will be held on 15th August at the Brindavan Auditorium in Chinniampalayam, Coimbatore.

A press conference regarding this event was held today (08/08/2024) at the Coimbatore Press Club. Mr. Muthukumar, the Field Coordinator of the Save Soil Movement, spoke at the event. Also present were Smt. Subathra, Founder of PVR Foods, Coimbatore, and Thiru. Kumar Shanmugam.

Regarding the upcoming event, Mr. Muthukumar stated, “On behalf of Isha’s Save Soil Movement, various training programs on natural farming have been conducted over the past several years. Through these programs, thousands of farmers have returned to natural farming and are successfully cultivating their crops.”

He emphasized that in today’s context, farmers have the opportunity to start their own businesses and become entrepreneurs. This opportunity is not only available to farmers but also to young people, women, and homemakers.

“Today, 30-40% of our country’s total GDP comes from small and medium enterprises, with agriculture-related businesses holding significant importance. This is why the Isha Save Soil Movement is organizing the Agri Startup Festival,” he added.

During the event, experts will share their experiences and key information on various aspects such as how to start an agriculture-related business, branding, technologies involved in product packaging, marketing strategies, and effectively using social media. Additionally, experts will discuss the types of government assistance programs available for starting agriculture-related businesses.

Thiru. Gnanasambandham, Executive Director and Chief Operating Officer of the Business Development Department at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, will speak about agricultural business opportunities. Mrs. Subathra, Founder of PVR Foods, Coimbatore, which generates significant income through minor grains, and various achievers and experts, including Thiru. S.K. Babu, who has created 17,000 entrepreneurs, will also participate. They will share their experiences on a range of useful topics.

“We will also be selecting and awarding ten outstanding entrepreneurs. Additionally, there will be an exhibition featuring simple tools used in businesses and packaging equipment,” Mr. Muthukumar mentioned.

Speaking next, Smt. Subathra of PVR Foods said, “As a former college professor, I am now engaged in the business of enhancing and selling minor grains in the food industry. When I started, there were no guidelines like this. However, through this event organized by the Isha Save Soil Movement, the experiences of many people like me can be consolidated in one place. People should take advantage of this opportunity.”

The event will be a full-day program from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Those interested in participating can make a reservation in advance by contacting 83000 93777 or 94425 90077.
