Coimbatore : Tamil Nadu Revenue minister, R B Udaykumar on Wednesday joined issue with DMK president, M K Stalin over his remarks that AIADMK-PMK alliance was formed not for the benefit of the country or the people and said that DMK was forging alliance with MDMK General Secretary, Vaiko, who has criticised DMK and its leaders with choicest words.

Vaiko had left DMK and formed MDMK, as DMK had removed him on charges of attempting to kill former DMK President, M Karunanidhi and nine party workers had immolated themselves over the issue, Udaykumar told reporters here.

Keeping such a person on his side, Stalin was trying to forge alliance with MDMK, setting aside the benefit of the people and Country, he alleged.

Stalin, in his reaction had reportedly alleged that AIADMK-PMK alliance was formed without a though for the country of the people, but an alliance for money.

Stating that the alliance was formed considering the welfare of the people, he said that people of Tamil Nadu have welcomed this ‘winning combination.

On the reported remarks by AMMK deputy general secretary, T T V Dinakaran that his party was aiming Assembly and not not Lok Sabha, Udaykumar said that in fact, there were no no candidates for his party.

Even such was the case in DMK too and was in search of candidates, which was delaying the announcement of alliance, Udayakumar alleged.
