Kerala-bound fruits, vegetables to be certified

Health departments in Tamil Nadu have decided to issue Food Safety Certificates to fruits and vegetables that are going to be taken from Tamil Nadu to Kerala, following a series of complaints of excessive pesticide residues in them.

30 such certificates were issued by the department of Tamil Nadu Food Safety and Drug Administration yesterday. The department plans to verify these vendors and the commodities before certifying them.
