Kerala Governor P Sathasivam highlighted the lack of awareness among patients to approach the doctors as early as possible to begin treating the diseases. He said that the doctors should provide necessary information that will enable patients to come to them at the very beginning of the illnesses.

While releasing the book titled ‘Liver, a Protector,’ written by gastroenterologist Dr. VG Mohanprasad, he clarified that neither CrPC (Criminal Procedure Code) nor IPC (Indian Penal Code) prevented the doctors from treating accident patients.

The former Chief Justice of India also said that doctors should not hesitate to issue
disability certificates to deserving candidates because they are required for obtaining concessions and reservations in studies and employment.
