COIMBATORE: A 4-day global food product business summit expo will be held in Madurai from August 12.

Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce, a 94 years old traditional trust is conducting the “Vibrant Tamil Nadu”, the launch of which was held in the city on Monday.

“Though India ranks third in global food processing industry, its share is just 1.6 per cent,” head of Vibrant Tamil Nadu S. Rethinavelu said.

“The State, especially South Tamil Nadu, had many unique products but their global popularity is hampered by absence of marketing linkages. The expo will provide the crucial link by organising global summits and expos all over the State,” he said.

“Manufacturers and traders across from all over the country and importers from over 20 countries will attend the expo to know and learn about Tamil Nadu Food Industry products and business agreements will be signed between to take it further,” Rethinavelu added.
