Maharashtra nod for rally for rivers is a land mark step : Isha

Coimbatore : Founder of Isha Foundation, Jaggi Vasudev Thursday tweeted that Maharashtra Cabinet nod for rally for rivers was a landmark step which will create a model and an example for the nation that ecology and economy can indeed work together.

In his twitter handle he said, “Maharashtra cabinet nod to @rallyforrivers’ Waghari revitalization project is a landmark step which will create a model & an example for the nation that ecology & economy can indeed work together. –Sg @Dev_Fadnavis @SMungantiwar #RallyForRivers.”

The Maharashtra cabinet had approved the pilot project for revitalization of Waghari River in Yavatmal on March 5 and agriculture Department has earmarked Rs 415 crore for project implementation.

The cabinet approval also includes formation of a Special Purpose Vehicle for the project, which will have representation from members of Rally for Rivers and other technical experts, a foundation release said here.

The Rally for Rivers is spearheaded by Sadhguru and he along with expert. team had made a detailed presentation to the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Forest Minister Sudhir Munghantiwar in August last year in Mumbai and a detailed project report for revitalization of Waghari was submitted in November.
