MDMK Chief and one of the leaders of the Makkal Nala Koottani, Vaiko has said that money power would face a huge defeat at the hands of the youth dominant Tamil Nadu in the upcoming elections.

Briefing media persons during the party’s meet in Coimbatore on Friday, Vaiko said that despite both the DMK and the ADMK having started their campaigns by illegally distributing money, Makkal Nala Koottani would emerge victorious because of the enormous support from the youth through WhatsApp and social media platforms.

“People who helped victims during the flood relief activities in Chennai have shown huge support to us via social media and the support is increasing with time,” he added.

Predicting that Chief Minister Jayalalithaa could be convicted in the infamous DA case, Vaiko added that there were high possibilities that Kunha’s verdict will be upheld by the Apex Court.

“ADMK is already dogged by interior politics with Ministers Natham Viswanathan and O. Panneerselvam being treated as outcasts by the party Chief. Plus there is more than Rs. 1,000 crore scam in the party which is making their condition even worse,” he said claiming that the main problem was in sharing the money.

He said that DMK was also having its fair share of trouble with the noose around the 2G scam case tightening.

“The State is leading in corruption charges and both the parties are responsible for it,” he claimed.

Assuring that the Election Commissioner was acting fair, Vaiko however claimed that the Commission should not remove flags in individual households that have been there for many years.

Coming down heavily on the Central Government’s proposal to change the name of Neyveli Lignite Corporation to National Lignite Corporation, Vaiko condemned it and stated that it should retain the old name, which was also the wish of the workers.

Worrying over the plight of Kousalya whose husband was killed recently, Vaiko said that he would visit the girl soon and requested not to make the issue political as it was a social issue.
