Petrol bomb hurled at HM leader’s house

Miscreants hurled a petrol bomb at the house of a Hindu Munnani leader in the wee hours of today at Tirupur, even as the organisation has called for a bandh in the city for tomorrow.

According to police, the bomb was hurled at Hindu Munnani treasurer Shanmugham’s house around 2 a.m. damaging a portion of the house.

Protesting against the attack, the Munnani, along with Tirupur Industrial Protection Committee, in which Shanugham is a member, has called for a city bandh tomorrow and appealed to the traders an establishments to extend support to it. The Hindu Munnani has also cited a similar attack at one its leader’s house in Vellore.
