Leading online insurance platform Policybazaar hosted a press meet at a private hall on Nanjappa Road, Coimbatore, outlining its growth strategy and rising demand trends in South India.
David Oscar, Head of Operations – Life Insurance (South), Policybazaar, addressed the media and highlighted Coimbatore’s emergence as a strong and knowledge-driven insurance market. He noted that increasing financial awareness among residents—particularly around children’s education planning and retirement security—has significantly boosted interest in structured life insurance solutions.
According to the company, inquiries related to long-term savings needs have more than doubled between 2022 and 2026, reflecting a clear shift in consumer priorities. Over the past four years, Policybazaar has witnessed sharp growth in demand for term insurance and savings-linked life insurance products. Young salaried professionals, in particular, are increasingly opting for term insurance plans to secure their families’ financial future.
Oscar also pointed out the growing popularity of innovative premium-payment benefit schemes, where insurers cover premiums under specific conditions, offering additional financial protection to policyholders.Emphasizing customer-centric service, he said Policybazaar remains committed to supporting customers at every stage of their insurance journey—from selection to claims assistance.
Policybazaar’s life insurance operations currently span more than 30 cities, supported by over 3,000 advisors catering to local customer needs. Notably, nearly 40% of its life insurance business is driven through direct engagement channels.
With rising financial literacy and evolving consumer behavior, Policybazaar sees Coimbatore and the broader South Indian market as key drivers of its next phase of growth.
