PSG College of Nursing Celebrates 24th Graduation Ceremony

The 24th Graduation ceremony of PSG college of Nursing was held on Tuesday 30th July 2024 at PSG IMS&R Auditorium. 93 Under graduates and 7 Post graduates received their degrees.

The principal in charge professor Meera Saravanan greeted the guests and granted charge to the graduates. In the welcome address she said that nurses have a great deal of potential to develop creative solutions to enhance the health care system in this day.

The presidential address was given by Shri L Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG Institutions. He stated Nurse leaders should develop emotionally intelligent nurses to meet the challenges of patient care. Nurses’vital role is promotion of health, assessment & screening of specific diseases, participating in recovery phase of illness in patients as well as rendering rehabilitative services at the rural health care settings.

Dr. Judith Angelitta Noronha, Dean of Manipal College of Nursing, Mangalore, the day’s chief guest, congratulated the graduates on finishing their degrees. She highlighted that the mission of nurses is to provide high-quality healthcare services. They ought to serve the community with commitment, compassion, dedication and humanity. She enlighted the graduates to embrace challenges, takes risks, push boundaries, be leaders, be innovators and be change makers.

Ms. Subashini R of the 2019 Batch won the award for the Best Outgoing Graduate. The graduates and postgraduates received special awards, including Best Academic, Best Clinical Nurse, Best Nurse Researcher, and Subject Toppers. Sports, NSS, and SNA were among the extracurricular activities honoured at the graduation ceremony.

This college magazine is a compilation of the creative and literary abilities of students. Shri L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG Institutions released the College Magazine Reminisce 2024. Associate Prof. Maheswari T., Mental Health Nursing Department, PSG CON presented vote of thanks.

The Alumni Reunion was conducted in the PSG IMS&R Auditorium at 2:00 pm. The chief
guest was Mrs. D. Shangeetha, Deputy Nursing Superintendent of PSG Hospitals,
Coimbatore. She is a graduate of the PG-2016 Batch. She delivered a Motivational Speech to
the gathering. Almost ninety-five alumni took part in the initiative. Alumni elections for
different executive member positions were conducted.
