PSG College of Physiotherapy celebrated its Foundation day on 30th October 2025 with great pride and enthusiasm at the B-Block auditorium, PSG Hospitals, Coimbatore.
The celebration began with a warm welcome address by Prof. R. Mahesh, Principal of PSG College of Physiotherapy, who extended his greetings to the dignitaries, alumni, faculties and students.
The event was presided over by Shri. L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG Institutions, who in his presidential address emphasized the institution’s commitment to excellence in education, research and service to society. He also congratulated the awardees and commended their contributions to the profession.
The chief guest, Dr. Kavitha Raja, Principal of J.S.S. College of Physiotherapy and Deputy Director of Rehabilitation services, J.S.S Hospital, Mysuru, graced the occasion and addressed the gathering with her insights on Professionalism and Academic leadership. She congratulated the Distinguished Alumni awardees for their exceptional accomplishments and dedicated services.
During the celebration, Distinguished Alumni Awards, 2025 were presented to three eminent alumni, which recognized the exemplary achievements of PSG’s alumni who have made remarkable contribution in the field of Physiotherapy worldwide.
Following the felicitation, each awardee delivered a heartfelt speech:
Dr. Ashokan Arumugam, Associate Professor, Department of Physiotherapy, University of Sharjah, UAE, expressed his gratitude to the Almighty, his family members, the dignitaries, and the PSG Institution. He reminisced about memorable moments, highlighted the growth of the physiotherapy profession, and emphasized the importance of promoting physical activity.
Mrs. Yogeshwari Raman, Assistant Professor, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research, Chennai, shared her heartfelt thanks with the doctors & faculties of PSG. She emphasized the values of rehabilitation services and motivated students by highlighting the bright future and growing opportunity in the physiotherapy field.
Mr. Anand Sivayogam, Director & Founder, MoveFree Physio Group Pvt. Ltd & PhysioX Pvt. Ltd, India & Singapore, thanked PSG Institution for the recognition. He spoke about the value of knowledge and skills in physiotherapy and emphasized the role of physiotherapists in enhancing patients’ quality of life, and motivated the students to pursue continuous learning, develop professional networks, and to serve society.
The event concluded with the vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Ashraf. Y, Vice Principal of PSG College of Physiotherapy.
The ceremony reflected PSG’s continued commitment to academic excellence, Professional growth and service to the community.
