Writer and Founder of Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam, Tamilrauvi Maniyan has claimed that the People Welfare Front (PWF) has lost the rights to proclaim itself as the third alternative to the Dravidian parties.

Briefing media persons on the sidelines of the release of the Manifesto of the Maattru Arasiyal Koottani (Political Change Front) in Coimbatore on Wednesday, Tamilaruvi Manian alleged that the decision of the PWF to choose Vijayakanth as its Chief Ministerial candidate itself has deprived it of the rights.

“The PWF seemed a good alternative to start with, with good leaders and parties joining foes against the Dravidian parties. But they failed to realise that the youth and first time voters who amount to around 1.20 crore in Tamil Nadu cannot accept Vijayakanth as the Chief Minister,” he alleged.

He added that even as the first time voters hated the Dravidian parties for their corrupt image, but were bitter about the fact that Vijayakanth was the Chief Ministerial candidate of the PWF-DMDK-TMC alliance.

Blaming the PWF leaders for allegedly not being able to create a third alternative, Manian also claimed that he believed that there were no alternatives to the DMK and AIADMK in the 2016 Assembly elections, and that the alliance formed by the Abdul Kalam Vision India Party and Gandhiya Makkal Iyakkam would form the Government in Tamil Nadu by 2021.

Not bestowing faith in the manifestos of other parties, Tamilaruvi Manian claimed that they were lacking in long term plan and ideas for development.
