River Expands in Tamil Nadu with First Store in Coimbatore

Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer, River, has launched its second Tamil Nadu store in Coimbatore.
The River Store is conceived and designed to provide customers a first-hand view into all River offerings including the Indie, accessories and merchandise. The Indie is available for immediate sale at the new River Store Ramanathapuram. It is priced at INR 1,42,999 (ex-showroom, Coimbatore).
Spanning 1200 sq. ft., the store at Trichy Road has been launched in collaboration with RAJDURAI E MOBILITY LLP.
River entered Tamil Nadu in 2024 with the launch of their Chennai store. Following Coimbatore, the company plans to open stores in Vellore, Erode and Tiruppur, marking rapid expansion across the state. River currently operates in 09 outlets across Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Hubli, Visakhapatnam and Kochi. The company will expand its footprint to Mysore, Belgaum, Tirupati, Ahmedabad, Pune, Nagpur and Delhi in the next few months.
Speaking about the store launch, Aravind Mani, Co-Founder and CEO, said, “After the success of our flagship store in Chennai, we’re excited to expand across Tamil Nadu. Many of our employees who’ve been with us from the start are from this region. And it’s a special market for us. Our goal is to establish River Indie as a distinctive vehicle in the region, offering both style and convenience together. Our plan going forward is to open 25 River Stores across India by March 2025.”
The River Store Ramanathapuram has a vibrant atmosphere and is designed to showcase the brand’s aesthetics that incorporate ‘flow lines’, pebbles and other organic shapes that evoke the essence of rivers. At the core of the store’s aesthetics are carefully designed habitats.
The first habitat depicts how Indie blends into daily life. The second habitat portrays Indie in Coimbatore’s local cityscape with layered illustrations. The narrative aligns with River’s ethos, taking people from where they are to where they want to be.
