COIMBATORE: Sapna Book House, one of the largest book malls in the South India, is launching its much awaited Sapna Kiosks in all its 16 branches on January 26.

“The Kiosks will have the entire catalogue of 1.2 crore titles in various languages, including five lakh Sapna’s and remaining other collaborators’, and the customers can place orders from there and the books will be delivered within three weeks,” Sapna Director Deepak Shah told reporters here on Wednesday.

Shah, here as part of opening the 16th branch, the second in the city, said that the customers can opt for the destinations, like one can place order from this city and take delivery at Bengaluru from the Sapna shop. “The customer can have online experience with offline shop,” he said.

When asked about the status of reading habit, he said that as far as his company was concerned there was a year on year growth of 15 per cent, which indicated the increase in reading habit. Compared to other places, where Sapna was functioning, Coimbatore has higher growth of 17 per cent, he said.

“Despite initial drop in sales immediately after implementation of GST, it picked after two months and now with digitisation the purchase of books have started increasing,” he said.

Stating that the 52-year-old company is adding three more book stores – two in Bengaluru and one in Tamil Nadu – by the end of the year, Shah said that with over 60,000 walk-in customers every single day across all Sapna stores of 4.5 lakh square feet, it has given the largest entry point for families to browse through more than 250 categories in book alone.

Coimbatore book house will be inaugurated tomorrow at Prozone Mall by Chairperson and Founder trustee, GRG Institutions, Nandini Rangaswamy.
