School teacher dies in road mishap at Podanur

Coimbatore: School teacher Kiruthika died when a goods vehicle hit her two-wheeler and ran over her near Podanur in the city on Monday.

The incident took place when she was on her way to school on Monday morning. As her vehicle was moving towards the school in Podanur-Vellalore, a lorry came from behind, rammed it. Under the impact, she fell of the vehicle and was run over by the lorry.

Resident informed police who rushed to the spot and sent the body to government hospital for post mortem.

The driver of the lorry moving towards Vellalore and is said to have lost control and was suspected to be under the influence of alcohol. Kiruthika of Podanur was working in a private school at Elgin Nagar near Vellalore.
