Seven years RI for robbing woman at knife point

The Mahila Court here today sentenced a man to undergo seven years rigorous imprisonment for robbing a woman of her gold ornaments at knife point, some
six years ago.

The prosecution case was that 26-year old Manoj had entered the house of a middle-aged woman Amalaranganayaki in January 2010 in Coonoor and robbed 21 sovereigns of gold ornaments, threatening her at knife point.

Manoj was arrested in 2013 and the case was going on in Mahila Court. Judge M. Sarvamangala sentenced Manoj to undergo seven years’ RI for the crime.
