Happy Streets will celebrate its 25th week on January 31. It will join hands with Coimbatore Vizha and Swachh Bharat to carry out a massive clean-up drive. As part of the drive, members and volunteers of Coimbatore 4 Tamil Nadu (C4TN) will remove unauthorised sign boards from trees and poles in the R.S. Puram stretch. It will also have fun elements like folk arts, traditional games, and other sporting activities to keep the visiting public engaged.
Happy Streets is an initiative that takes place every Sunday morning at R.S. Puram. This initiative that was started last year has received tremendous support from the Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation (CCMC). While Happy Streets is in progress, the streets are freed of vehicles. People are free to walk or bicycle. They also get opportunities to organise and participate in various outdoor and sport activities.
