The Southern India Mills Association (SIMA) will conduct the eighth edition of its annual CEO Conference on September 25. According to SIMA’s press release, among the issues to be discussed are the challenges the industry faces in implementing the ‘Make in India’ policy, and global competition, especially China’s evolving business strategies.

The conference coincides with SIMA’s 58th Annual General Meeting.

This time, the theme is ‘Make in India – Challenges in Textiles.’ While factors like record production of cotton and abundance of electricity are in favour of the industry, the fact remains that while competing in the global market, textile manufacturers also have to worry about fluctuating prices and threat from China.
