Sitting AIADMK MLA dies of heart attack

Coimbatore : Ruling AIADMK MLA,R Kanagaraj died of massive heart attack at his residence today.Representing Sulur Assembly constituency in the district,the 64-year old Kanagaraj leaves behind his wife,a son and a daughter.
He suffered severe chest pain while reading newspaper and swooned and died,party sources said.The body is kept at his residence in Sultanpet, for public to pay homage.
Kanagaraj worked for the party for the last 30 years and rose to Panahcyat president and elected as MLA in 2016 defeating Congress candidate VMC Manoharan by over 36,000 votes,they said.
