Ooty : Two sons, stranded in Sharjah, performed the last rites of their father, who died in their house in Alattanai, some 60 KMs from here, through video-call from there  Wednesday.

According to family sources, the 65 year old Jogaraj, a advocate by profession died due to age-related illness in the early hours.

Though the sons, Prabhu and Pranesh, had booked their flight a few days ago to see their father, their names were very behind in the queue,
as more than three lakh Indians had registered their name to reach their hometowns.

Taking a chance, both had come to the Airport. Since they did not get seats, they decided to perform the last rites outside the Airport.

Being from Badaga community, there are many rituals before burying the body and all the rites were done through video-conferencing.
