With India being the diabetes capital of the world, Coimbatore-based Sri Ramakrishna Hospital is hosting Sanjeevini, a free diabetes education and detection camp in order to spread awareness about the causes, symptoms, and prevention of the disease.
The two-day camp will be held on September 17 and 18 at Sri Ramakrishna Kalyana Mandapam. At the camp, patients will be screened for diabetes mellitus, thyroid dysfunction, excessive weight gain, PCOS, mood swings, excess body hair, excessive tiredness, menstrual irregularities, metabolic bone disorders, growth hormone disorders, hormone replacement therapy, pituitary dysfunction, secondary hypertension, and hair loss.
A press release from the hospital stated that an entire array of tests, including vision testing, foot examination, dental checkup, good food habits and cooking exhibition, free sugar and thyroid screening, direct fitness counselling, products exhibition, free medical counselling, patient awareness education, physiotherapy advice, basic cardiac screening ECD, and snoring-diabetic link education, will be done absolutely free of cost.
