Tata AIG Insurance Company has initiated stringent action against individuals involved in generating forged insurance policy documents, following a series of complaints reported across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry over the past few years. The company has pursued legal proceedings against offenders in multiple regions.
A specific case from June 2024 involved a fatal accident on the Trichy–Namakkal Main Road near Meikalnayakanpatty, in which an individual named Govindasamy lost his life. During the inquiry conducted by Company Managers Vinothkumar and Karthikeyan, it was determined that the insurance policy presented was Counterfeit. Subsequently, an FIR (No. 368/2025) was registered against the car owner Under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Tata AIG has cautioned that anyone involved in producing or using fake insurance policies will face severe legal repercussions. The initiative is part of the company’s broader efforts to prevent fraud and ensure protection for legitimate policyholders. This decisive action highlights Tata AIG’s strong stance on ethical practices and its dedication to maintaining customer confidence.
