TEA to honour toppers

The Tirupur Exporters Association has decided to give away Rs. 10,000 cash award to the first five toppers of grade 10 and 12 from the Tirupur garment workers’ families.
The association, in its 25th year, has already started collecting details of the rank holders, its president A. Saktivel said.
The association has sent letters to the eight major trade unions – INTUC, AITUC, CITU, MLF, PF, ATP, BMS and HMS seeking their help in getting details about students.
The awards will be given at a function this month, he added.
