Accusing the District Primary Education Officer (DPEO) of functioning against the interests of teachers and students, about 500 activists of Joint Action Committee of Teachers Organisations (JACTO) today staged a demonstration in front of DPEO office in the city.

Even as the functionaries were raising slogans against the officer, there was heavy down pour, police said.

Braving rains, the activists continued their agitation and sought action against the officer.
