Telephone conversation to eliminate Modi goes viral

COIMBATORE: Police are verifying the genuineness of a recorded telephonic conversation, in which a 1998 Coimbatore serial bomb blasts convict was heard saying that plan was afoot to eliminate Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The conversation between one Rafiq, who completed his jail term and residing in Kuniyamuthur in the city, and transport contractor, Prakash of Salem has gone viral on social media.

The conversation was mainly related to finances about vehicles and suddenly Rafiq was heard saying “we have decided to eliminate Modi, as we were the ones who had planted bombs when Advani visited the city in 1998. I have many cases against me and damaged more than 100 vehicles,” he was heard telling Prakash during his eight-minute conversation, police said.

After getting the information, the city police formed special teams to investigate the matter and also verify the genuineness of the conversation and the people involved.
