Coimbatore South Constituency AIADMK MLA, Amman K Arjunan, today alleged that he and his wife are being threatened using foul language over phone, for voting in favour of Edapadi Palanisamy during the floor test.

Arjunan, who visited his constituency, told reporters that as he was talking to the voters, some persons called him on his phone and abused him, while some persons belonging to the DMK, pretending to be part of the public, started berating him.

Some people used unparliamentary language against his mother, he said, adding that his wife was also receiving such threatening calls.

Stating that he voted for Palanisamy to continue the good governance provided by the late Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, he said that DMK members deliberately created a ruckus in the house and addressed the Speaker disrespectfully and manhandled him.

On two city MLAs — V C Arukutty and Arunkumar — siding with O Paneerselvam, he said “they have gone to his side for some reasons. Both will return and support the Palanisamy government.”

He will lodge a complaint against those indulging in threatening him and his family, Arjunan said.
