Three students drown in quarry pond

COIMBATORE: Three teenagers drowned in a pond attached to a quarry at Velayudhampalayam in Palladam on Friday.

The three Sudarshan, Manohar and Sameer Khan – all studying for Grade XI had gone to take bath, when they drowned. A person on the bank informed police and the villagers, who rushed to the spot to rescue them.

All three bodies have been recovered and further investigations are on, police said.
