Three youth killed, two others injured as motorbikes collide

Thanjavur: In a tragic incident, three youth were killed and two others injured when their motor-bikes collided near here.
Three youth, namely Vignesh (18), Senthamil Selvan (20) and Rajkumar (19), all masons by profession and residents of Katharinatham village, were proceeding together on a motorbike from Ammapettai to Thanjavur last night. Similarly, two other youth, namely Kaviarasan (21) of Paruthikottai village and Dinesh Kumar (24) of MGR Nagar, Kovilur village, were riding a motorbike in the opposite direction. The two speeding motorbikes unexpectedly collided with each other near Kalimedu village on the Thanjavur-Nagapattinam Road.
In the mishap, all the five youth were grievously injured and were admitted to Thanjavur Medical College Hospital (TMCH) for treatment. However, Vignesh and Senthamil Selvan died last night while Dinesh Kumar died today.
Ammapettai police have registered a case and are investigating.
