TN stands fourth in purchase of large appliances

COIMBATORE: Tamil Nadu has become the fourth largest State in terms of purchase of large appliances and televisions in terms of demand on Amazon.in, a top company official said on Tuesday.
“The State witnessed close to three times year on year growth with Coimbatore emerging as one of the fastest growing markets in this category,” Category Leader, Appliance, Amazon India, Suchit Sabhas told reporters here.
“Customers in the State are gearing up for the summer season and showing high interest levels and comforts in shopping for high-end large appliances on Amazon.in,” he said.
In the last two months, Air Conditioners and refrigerators sales have grown 3.5 times when compared to the same period last year, Suchit said.
Tamil Nadu is a critical market for Amazon and the company has five fulfillment centres offering sellers 1.5 million cubic feet of storage for 5,000 products, he said.
Tamil Nadu has become the 4th largest market, after Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi, for large appliances, with customers shopping for a range of ACs, Refrigerators, washing machines and other appliances, Suchit said.
