Unclaimed bag creates tension in airport

A school bag found in the Coimbatore airport today, created anxious moments for nearly two hours.
As the passengers of a private airline left the security area around 7.30 a.m., an attendant noticed a bag lying unclaimed and alerted the airport officials, Police said.
The officials in turn informed the bomb detection squad, who rushed to the spot, to take possession of the bag and with the help of sniffer dog, managed to remove it.
On opening the bag, they found some notebooks, ice cream and shoes, with one note book bearing the name of Hemavarshini, Standard IX, Lovedale School, Ooty, Police said.
After checking the passengers’ list, the officials found that the girl had travelled by the airline.
