He is a goldsmith by profession. He is better known as UMT Raja. No, UMT are not his initials – they are kind of acronym for “Unnal Mudiyum Thambi” Raja. And, Raja, true to his acronym UMT is all set to welcome Prime Minister Modi with a unique gift.

“I have great interest in working on work, which is off-beat. As soon as I heard about PM visiting our city, I began to work on a piece of art for Narendra Modi,” says Raja.

Raja has created a portrait of the Prime Minister himself. And this is no ordinary portrait. This one is made of words. Ad, they are not ordinary words, but the teachings and quotes of Swami Vivekananda.

Raja explains to us the logic behind his piece of art. “I regard Narendra Modi as one of the living legends. Narendra Modi regards Swami Vivekananda as a legend. This portrait of our PM is made from the motivational words that were once spoken by Swami Vivekananda.”

When we look at it from a distance it looks like a neatly sketched portrait of Narendra Modi. However, a closer look reveals that it is made up of about 700 motivational words spoken and preached by Swami Vivekananda.

Even though he has made it, Raja is clueless as to the way he will reach this tribute to the PM during his visit to Coimbatore. He has approached some political outfits who have promised to help him reach the art work to the PM.

The artist took just seven-and-a-half hours to create this work of art. What is more daunting now for him is to find out a way to reach the creation to its rightful owner.
